2015 CISC Winter Recreational League
The 2015 CISC Winter Recreational League is right around the corner! Games begin January 10 and conclude on March 7. Don't miss out on your opportunity to play the beautiful game in the best indoor facility in North America, THE DOME!
The 2015 Winter League offers soccer opportunities for kids ages 2 to 18 years old! Below you will find more information on each age group:
Kiddie Soccer -- An introduction to the game of soccer for 2-3 year olds. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child as the licensed instructor leads the group in games and movements with a soccer ball. Players are not split into teams in this age group, but grouped together. Each player receives a Kiddie Soccer Jersey. Kiddie Soccer will play from 11-11:45AM on Saturday mornings in the Dome.
U6 -- For kids ages 4 and 5, the U6 program is the first opportunity for players to be placed on their own team with their own coach. The U6 program plays 3v3 on half an end zone at the Dome and will play to small goals with no goalies. U6 teams receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks). U6 will have a 30 minute training with their own team followed by a 30 minute game against an opposing team all in a 1-hour timeframe. U6 will play from 9-10AM at the Dome on Saturday mornings.
U8 -- For kids ages 6 and 7, the U8 program is in for a bit of a change moving into the 2015 CISC Winter Recreational League. The U8 program will play 5v5 including goalies on a FULL end zone. The bigger space will allow for a smoother transition from our U8 program into the U10 program. The larger space will also allow the players to be more creative and have more space to run with or without the ball. The parents will also enjoy watching their little ones play on a bigger field. U8 teams receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks). U8 will play their games from either 10-11AM or 11AM-12PM on Saturday mornings.
U10 -- The U10 program is headed by CISC Staff Coach Johnny Turner. Johnny will train the U10 Academy players twice a week on either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs and they will play their games on Saturday mornings in the Dome. The U10 players also have the opportunity to tryout for the U10 Select team, which will travel to tournaments around Anchorage and Wasilla and play against other select teams from neighboring competitive clubs. U10 players receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks).
U12, U15 and U19 -- Players in the U12, U15 or U19 league will train at least once a week at a local ASD elementary school gym and will play a 1-hour game on Saturday mornings beginning at either 9AM or 10AM in the Dome. The coach of each team gets to choose the practice location and time for their team. Players that are in these age groups have the opportunity to be evaluated by a CISC Staff Coach if they are interested in potentially playing competitive soccer. Although its not mandatory, many CISC competitive players started out in the recreational program and were later identified as being potential competitive players. Players in these age groups receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks).
**The Winter League is also a very good prep league prior to the HIGH SCHOOL soccer season starting! If you are currently in high school and would like to try out for your high school soccer team, playing in the CISC U19 Winter Recreational League is a great place to prepare yourself for HS tryouts!!**
